Our Story

Born from a Love of India’s Healing Heritage

Svarna began with a simple dream: to share the healing wisdom of Ayurveda — the “science of life” — in a setting worthy of its beauty. Our founder, Dr. Aditi Rao, grew up watching her grandmother prepare herbal oils in a small Kerala courtyard. Those fragrant, patient rituals shaped her life’s work.

In 2009 she opened Svarna in the heart of the Aravalli hills near Udaipur, the City of Lakes. Today our estate spans five acres of herbal gardens, treatment villas, a hydro garden and a boutique spa residence, welcoming guests from across India and over forty countries.

We believe true luxury is not excess — it is time, attention and care. That belief guides every touch, every blend and every cup of tea we serve.

2009

Svarna Opens

Dr. Aditi Rao inaugurates a six-room Ayurvedic centre in the hills of Udaipur.

First Herbal Garden

We plant our own medicinal garden, ensuring pure, fresh herbs for every oil and paste.
